LIA has state Reps on their support list...

Thanks to Jeff Harwood for the following tip off...
It appears, through some quick-thinking research, that there are at least two state representatives that LIA sends out information to. They are the following:

PAUL STANLEY
R - Memphis
District 96 - Part of Shelby County

S Senator Jon Kyl (R-AZ).

This confirms what was rumoured earlier in the year about LIA taking two state rep's to a meeting with the Department of Mental Health and Developmental Dissabilities.
This comes after the termintaion of Nathan Bell from the staff of LIA, and him sending out a form letter to "supporters"...Nathan aparently did not Bcc the emails and these two reps were traced down.

  • There is a state senator Jim Kyle(D) in district 28 (parts of Shelby Co). I wonder if that is who is being mentioned...

  • If the email address is 'senate.gov' then I retract my earlier comment. That would be US Senator Kyl of AZ.

Of course a senator from Arizona would make a level of sense. The Alliance Defense Fund is based in Arizona. It might explain how ADF got involved in the Love in Action case...

  • If you want to know if Paul Stanley was at the Dep. of Mental Health
meeting, why don't you just ask him? And what is his affiliation with
LIA? Probably best if the questions came from one of his constituents.

Also, if you know the date that the meeting took place, you might try
asking the Dept. who was in attendence. I'm sure there were minutes
taken (which should show who was in attendance). They may tell you that
information is confidential or you might just get the list depending on
if it constitutes a public meeting or not.

  • Great BLOG. Keep up the good work. Years ago I had a run in with LIA folks, I even stayed in a couple of their houses. It was about 1977. The interesting thing was the amount of gay sex I had while there! Also, the older guys in these houses were really out to nail my ass ... if you know what I mean.

Well I only stayed for about 1 week total, but I will never forget the freaks that ran the cult.
