I am not gay, but I support your cause 100% this type of brainwashing can not be tolerated. Joe Stark and his wife are bad parents not because Zack thinks he's gay, but because they don't respect him enough to let him figure out who he is without bible-thumpers demanding he conform to their ideals.
I did want to suggest that you prepare for disappointment. I do not see Zack's story ending positively for you as he will (a) be brainwashed into believing he isn't gay, or (b) will realize that he needs to lie until he is out of his parent's control. The larger goal, once Zack's story stops gaining attention should be to spotlight the truth about these programs. Focusing on their questionable techniques and non-existent licenses and training would be my advice. There is a chance, of course, that the support Zack has been shown will keep his strength up, but we have no way of knowing how much he is hearing since they restrict his access to the world.
Why not demonstrate outside the host church where Zach, his family; and the other "clients" are required to attend, and have a better chance of seeing that they have outside support?
I cannot be at the LIA protest; I'm out of town, but I would strongly discourage any protests at the 'official' church. That would be misunderstood as another attack by the gay lobby against the 'moral' people who already oppose us. We must remain focused on the dangers of LIA and the ex-gay movement without adding more enemies.
